We are also developers of creative and innovative local experiences. Our team believe strongly in building homegrown events and experiences and work with our regional industry and partners to bring the local experience to life.

Julia McDevitt, CMP
OWNER & PRINCIPAL PLANNER
Julia McDevitt, CMP started Elm City Events in 2021 after working at the University of New Brunswick as the Senior Director of Conference Services. Although not born in Fredericton, she has been proud to call Fredericton home for over 10 years.
Julia is a lifelong learner and believes strongly in always continuing education in your field of interest. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from St. Francis Xavier University, a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of New Brunswick, completed her Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) Certification in 2018 and is currently completing her Master’s of Business degree from the University of New Brunswick.
Julia was named Meeting Professional of the Year by MPI Atlantic in 2017, Professional of the Year by Unique Venues in 2019 and received the award for Excellence & Leadership from the Canadian University and College Conference Organizers Association in 2022.
Julia's greatest joy in life, is her family. She is the mom of two amazing boys (Asher and Callum) and wife to an incredible partner (Aaron). Her and her husband share a love for travel, delicious vegan food and a good glass of Pinot Noir! She is a true relationship builder, creative thinker and problem solver and has truly found her passion in event management.

Carolina Correa
EVENTS MANAGER
Carolina is passionate about creating memorable experiences.
Her background lies in the intersection of theater and film, event production and operations management. She started her career working on film sets while attending school in Los Angeles, California before moving to her native country, Brazil, to coordinate events, conferences, and experiences for Aerolito, a company that accelerates desirable futures through education, innovation, and technology. She then pivoted to Perestroika, a company that designs disruptive learning spaces through original creative methodologies, where she managed different demands related to event production and operations.
In 2021, Carolina moved to Fredericton and instantly fell in love with the city and the Maritime hospitality. In her free time, she loves fun arts and crafts projects, trying new recipes, watching a good comedy, and exploring her new city along with her wonderful partner, Igor. Carolina believes people are the center of what we do, and she treasures building connections.
She is excited to be part of Elm City Events, bringing her go-beyond attitude and attention to detail to our projects.

Alisha Bainbridge-Trites
COMMUNICATIONS & EVENTS MANAGER
Alisha Bainbridge-Trites is a reliable, hardworking and committed communications, marketing and events professional.
Throughout her career, Alisha has demonstrated a strong passion for effective communication strategies and has successfully managed numerous events and campaigns. With a solid foundation in marketing, her strategic thinking and innovative approach to her work have consistently delivered impactful results, enhancing brand visibility and driving engagement.
Alisha graduated from UNB Fredericton in 2015 with a bachelor of business administration and later pursued an advanced diploma in public relations from NSCC, in Halifax. After living in both Halifax and Saint John, Alisha and her husband moved back to Fredericton in 2022, where they first met, with their dog Hugo. With her family, she enjoys spending time on the trails and taking in all of Fredericton’s natural beauty.
She is so proud to be a part of the Elm City Events team and enjoys using her skills and experience to deliver memorable client events.

SORCHA BEIRNE
EVENTS COORDINATOR
Sorcha is a creative events coordinator experienced in large-scale events, having worked in both the food and music festival industries.
Born in Ireland, Sorcha has lived in Canada for most of her life and calls Fredericton home. After spending a few years in Montreal and Toronto, she returned to Fredericton in 2020 where she began working at the Harvest Music Festival. At Harvest, Sorcha developed and managed the Safer Spaces program, and brought her dedication and eye for design to several other programs including the beloved ‘street experience’.
Outside of work, Sorcha loves live music, road trips, her three rescue cats, and working on new projects. Most recently, she and her partner are DIY renovating their mid-century home.
Sorcha believes that the small details are just as important as the big picture, and she is so excited to be a part of Elm City Events.

Stuart McKelvie
DIGITAL SPECIALIST
As a digital specialist, Stuart loves exploring interactions and moments, extracting the story which will resonate with an audience, and turning that into visuals and experiences that leave a lasting impression.
Creativity thrives in the intersections - where the unique pieces of our lived experience overlap to create something wonderful. Stuart believes that the secret to creativity is to widen your interests and give yourself space to play & explore - and it's directed how he's lived his life. From his childhood growing up on a farm in rural Australia, to his first career in auditing, and then moving to Canada and pivoting into community engagement, digital consulting & content creation, Stuart uses each experience to build connection & insight in his work with others. Experimenting with new technology, techniques and creative outlets has allowed him to adapt and thrive in today's everchanging society.
Outside of his creative & technological pursuits, Stuart has thoroughly embraced his new Canadian home. Changing seasons, mountain adventures and the challenge of learning a whole range of new sports & hobbies fills his weeks with joy and happiness.
Combining his love of technology, creativity and storytelling, Stuart is ready to go above and beyond to make your event one to remember!
